Kajiiloni Krichena from Nagaland has been selected for the Global Sports Mentoring Program (GSMP). She is one of 17 women from various countries, including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, and others, who will participate in the GSMP.

Kajiiloni was nominated for the program by the Secretary General of the Nagaland Olympic Association, Abu Metha, who is also an Alumni of the US State Department’s International Visitor Leadership Program.

The Nagaland Olympic Association expressed its pride in Kajiiloni’s participation in the GSMP and expects her to make significant contributions to sports in Nagaland. In the past, Krichena was nominated by the Indian Olympic Association to undergo a Masters in Global Sports Management from Seoul National University, South Korea.

Currently, she is working as a Sports Operations Officer in the Nagaland Olympic Association and has prior experience working with various sports federations and organizing world championships, world cups, and international sports events.

The Nagaland Olympic Association also expressed appreciation to the US Consulate in Kolkata, the US Embassy in India, and the American Centre in Kolkata for their support and partnership with the sports community in Nagaland.

The GSMP is a Sports Diplomacy program by the United States Government in partnership with ESPN. It pairs emerging leaders from various countries with senior female executives from top US organizations for a five-week mentorship program focused on creating positive change in their communities. The program emphasizes team-building, social entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, and action planning.
