The three-day Arunachal Literature Festival 2023 begins today in Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh. The festival will feature a variety of events, including panel discussions, book launches, poetry recitals, and cultural performances. The festival is expected to attract a large number of participants from across the state and outside.

The first Arunachal Literature Festival was held in 2019 with the aim to promote the rich literary heritage of Arunachal Pradesh and showcasing the work of local writers. The festival also provides a platform for dialogue and exchange of ideas among writers and thinkers from different parts of the country.

The 5th edition of the Arunachal Literature Festival, being organized by the Department of Information & Public Relations in collaboration with the Arunachal Pradesh Literary Society (APLS). The festival is a calendar event in the state aimed at promoting creative writings through interface between the local writers and established authors/writers, besides giving a forum to encourage the local emerging talents to enhance their skills in creative writing.

Sharing pictures of the inauguration ceremony on X, IPR & Printing Minister of the state, Bamang Felix wrote “Immersed in the vibrant world of the 5th #ArunachalLiteratureFestival today amidst literary giants like #Padmashree awardees YD Thongchi, Mamang Dai and other eminent authors.”

He called the festival a haven for aspiring writers and a source of inspiration for all. Urging everyone to attend the festival, he added that the festival plays a crucial role in nurturing literary talents and sparking creative minds.

This year’s festival is expected to be bigger and better than ever before. The festival will feature a number of well-known authors and poets, including Upamanyu Chatterjee, Jeet Thayil, and Jerry Pinto. The festival will also feature a special focus on the literature of Arunachal Pradesh, with a number of events featuring local writers.
