Defence Tech Expo 2023 – Empowering Northeast India
Guwahati, the largest city in Assam, is going to host a defence tech expo 2023. It will be the first state in Northeast India to do so. This defence tech expo 2023 exhibition will showcase military vehicles, state-of-the-art weaponry, and advanced equipment. It is Scheduled to take place on October 10th and 11th at Maniram Dewan Trade Center.
The conception of this defence tech expo 2023 came to fruition following a significant meeting held on August 12th between the top Army officials and state government which was led by the state commerce and industries minister Bimal Borah. This meeting was attended by Lt. Commander R Kalita, GOC-in-C of eastern command to review the purposed defence expo defence east tech 2023.
This expo holds various potential as it will be the first ever defence technology exhibition which is expected to showcase cutting-edge weapons, technological solutions, military vehicles, as well as assault rifles and military drones. More than 200 indigenous manufacturers, including Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), along with emerging startups, are poised to participate actively. This collaboration resonates with the government’s vision of AatmaNirbhar Bharat, a movement designed to boost domestic industries, particularly in the defence sector. Their collective involvement will contribute to realizing the aspiration of a self-reliant India.
Beyond its role in fostering indigenous capabilities, the defence exhibition is expected to serve as a platform for investments and job creation. It’s envisaged that the event will offer an ideal backdrop for attracting potential investors and generating employment opportunities for the region.
