DC Dimapur orders weekly social work
Dimapur town in Nagaland is coming together to fight against the spread of Dengue and Malaria with Dimapur Deputy Commissioner (DC) has issued an advisory order requiring all government offices, shops and households to conduct Cleaning and Social work service, once a week (preferably Saturday).
The decision was takin in view of the increasing number of dengue cases in the district as stagnated waterbodies after the monsoon rains becomes ideal breeding grounds for mosquitoes.
In a circular, DC Dimapur, Sachin Jaiswal asked the public to clean their own premises and surroundings which will include but not limited to draining out stagnant water from flower pots, leaves, tyres, old containers, drip pan of refrigerators which are main contributing factors of mosquito breeding.
To make this initiative successful, colonies, wards and village chairman and Gaon Buras GBs (village heads) have been requested to extend cooperation and ensure participation of all the public and eliminate stagnant water in domestic homes and in public spaces.
