IIE Guwahati and IIM Shillong jointly launched the CPMDS programme
On Thursday, September 14, the Indian Institute of Entrepreneurship (IIE) in Guwahati, in partnership with the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Shillong, officially launched the Certificate Programme in Project Management in the Development Sector (CPMDS) at IIE Guwahati.
CPMDS is designed to combine learning about theories with practical. It is a six-month certificate programme. This program aims to help students think critically, solve problems effectively and develop a well-rounded approach to development projects. It’s all about preparing professionals who can make a meaningful impact in their chosen fields.
The event was attended by various officials from IIE and other dignitaries including Dr. Lalit Sharma, the Director of IIE, Dr. Bhaskar Kumar Kakati, a Consultant at IIE and the Course Coordinator, Dr. Santanu Mohan Deka, an Associate Faculty Member at IIE and the Course Director and Dr. Sanjeev Kumar Ningombam, who serves as the Centre Coordinator for the Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Centre for Policy Research and Analysis at IIM Shillong.
Under this programme aspiring candidate must posses some qualifications. They should have a graduate degree from any Indian University with minimum of 50 per cent mark or they should have an equivalent degree from a recognized foreign University.
Besides this, individuals who have completed their undergraduate studies in any field from a recognized Indian University or a recognized foreign institution and possess at least two years of experience in sectors such as development, government organizations, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), corporations, etc. are also eligible to apply for CPMDS. Candidates who belong to SC, ST and PD categories will get a relaxation of 5 per cent.
The application process for CPMDS has already begun from 15 September 2023 and the aspiring candidates have time till 5 October 2023 to submit their applications. After the submission of their applications the shortlisted candidates have to complete their admission process by 12 October 2023. The classes will begin from 16 October 2023 at the IIE campus. Selected candidates will also have the opportunity to attend courses at the IIM Shillong.
