‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ platform for emerging young leaders
On Wednesday, the Union Cabinet approved the creation of an autonomous body named ‘Mera Yuva Bharat’ or MY Bharat. The platform’s purpose is to provide young people with suitable opportunities for voluntary work in their preferred fields and help them discover such chances throughout the country.
This new platform, powered by technology, will allow the government to connect with and support the dreams and goals of young people. Its mission is to help India on its path to becoming a developed nation by 2047.

Mera Yuva Bharat will enhance the leadership skills of young individuals through practical experience. It will also result in greater investments in youth, fostering them to become social innovators and leaders.
Making the announcement on X, Anurag Thakur, Union minister for youth affairs and sports said, “Yesterday, PM Modi congratulated our medal winners and athletes who returned after the Asian Games, winning the highest number of medals to date. It has been decided to form an institution called MY Bharat – Mera Yuva Bharat. This will be an overarching institutional mechanism for which permission has been granted.”

Thakur also said that, “Currently, India has around 400 million young people aged 15 to 19. This program aims to unleash their complete potential and provide them with chances to actively contribute to the development of our nation.”
With the new setup, where young people have access to resources and opportunities, they will play a vital role in transforming their communities and building the nation. They’ll act as a bridge, connecting the government and the people, like a “Youth Bridge,” Thakur added. The platform’s aim is to channel the abundant energy of the youth towards nation-building.
