Project Maitri: MakeMyTrip partners with WEP to empower women entrepreneurs in North-East
MakeMyTrip, India’s leading online travel agency, today announced a partnership with the Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) to launch ‘Project Maitri’, an initiative aimed at empowering women entrepreneurs in the North-East region of India.
The project will focus on women in the North East region of the country, by leveraging the untapped potential of homestays as a pathway to entrepreneurship, economic empowerment, and independence.

The project will provide training and support to women homestay owners in the region, with the goal of helping them develop their businesses and increase their incomes. MakeMyTrip will also provide these women with access to its platform, helping them reach a wider audience of potential guests.

The project was launched at the Dorjee Khandu State Convention Center, Itanagar in a special event titled ‘Enabling Women-Led Development in Arunachal’, attended by the Chief Minister of the state, Pema Khandu.
