ReDimension Games’ ‘Sojourn Past’ wins Best Upcoming Game of the Year Award at IGDC 2023

‘Sojourn Past‘ by ReDimension Games is set to release its debut PC game in the first quarter of 2024. The game is a pixel art action-adventure game set in an enchanting and mysterious world.

The game’s narrative is rooted in the five stages of grief: bargaining, denial, anger, depression, and acceptance. It aims to provide players with an introspective and emotionally charged experience. It features action and bullet hell combat gameplay with light-platforming elements.

‘Sojourn Past’ was competing against four other games from major studios in India, including ‘Dream Cricket 2024‘ by Dream Game Studios, ‘Fishbowl’ by imissmyfriends.studio, ‘Metal Haven‘ by Xigma Games, and ‘Indus Battle Royals‘ by SuperGaming.

ReDimension Games expressed gratitude to their families, friends, and their team for their support and success. They also thanked Sridhar Muppidi, CEO of purpletalk, for mentorship, as well as Ashemo Ezung and Whuto Chishi for their assistance at IGDC.
ReDimension Games was founded in 2018 by Pekrukhrietuo Pienyu, Imlijongshi Ao. Later, they collaborated with Loyievi Kennao for the music of the game. They initially developed small games and experimented with prototypes before deciding to pursue the original indie title ‘Sojourn Past’ in early 2022.
The team faced challenges due to a lack of prior experience, which led to extended development timelines. Technical issues and infrastructure challenges, such as power cuts and internet disruptions, also posed obstacles.
