Three Taekwondo players from Meghalaya – Alia Deisaka Lyngdoh, Pinky Narzary and Zoe Guite Mawthow have won Gold medal, under the Poomsae categories of U-9, U-40, U-50 at the 1st Bangabandhu Open International Taekwondo Championship 2023 at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protishtan (BKSP), Zirani, Savar, Dhaka.

Meghalaya Chief Minister, Conrad Sangma sharing the news on his X account (formerly Twitter) wrote “Meghalaya’s heart swells with pride as 3 Taekwondo players from the state did the nation proud by bagging Gold medals under the Poomsae categories of U-9, U-40, U-50 at the 1st Bangabandhu Open International Taekwondo Championship 2023 currently ongoing in Bangladesh. As the Chief Minister announced the news on his Social Media channels, congratulations poured in from all quarters and many Meghalaya residents commented on the news thanking the CM for creating an opportunity that allowed Meghalaya players to stand tall at such international sporting platform to give honour to India & Meghalaya. The comments also appreciate the CM’s robust vision for the Young Meghalayans like Alia, Pinky & Zoe reflects the true spirit of leadership in the state.
