Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated projects worth Rs 168 crore in Karbi Anglong district on Monday. The projects include infrastructure development and beautification work.

During the event, Sarma praised the Karbi society for preserving their rich socio-cultural traditions and adhering to their ancient belief system. He highlighted the history of the Karbi community, tracing it back to 3000 BC, and commended their progression through the practice of Honghari faith, a traditional belief system based on clan and ancestors.

He urged Karbi youths to ensure that the traditional beliefs of their community remain relevant in society.
