The famous Kauna Craft from Manipur will feature at G20 Crafts Bazar (Exhibition-cum-Sale), New Delhi which is being set up in Bharat Mandapam, Pragati Maidan from September 8-10 on the sidelines of the G20 Summit in New Delhi.

The G20 Crafts Bazaar will showcase handicraft products from different parts of India with a special focus on One District One Product.

Kauna is a soft, spongy grass that is unique to the state of Manipur. This pliable grass, characterized with the ability of being woven into multiple products. Kauna is water-resistant and has been used for centuries by the people of Manipur to make floor mats and cushions, as well as baskets for their use. The products made of Kauna are simple and minimalist in design and part of the heritage of local communities.

G20 Delegates, international media participating in the Summit will visit the crafts Bazaar and interact with the sellers, which not only promotes made in India products on a global stage, but also open up new economic and market opportunities for local artisans.
