Northeast shines in UPSC 2023: Manipur leads with 10 qualifiers, Assam and Nagaland follow strong
Aspirants from the Northeast region of India made a remarkable showing in the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) Civil Services Examination (CSE) 2023 results declared recently. Despite the challenges posed by various socio-political issues, Manipur emerged as a frontrunner with ten candidates cracking the prestigious exam.
A total of twenty candidates from Manipur, Nagaland, and Assam secured places in the coveted exam, demonstrating dedication and academic excellence. Following Manipur’s impressive performance were Nagaland and Assam, with four and six qualifiers respectively. This achievement marks a significant accomplishment for the Northeast, showcasing the dedication and hard work of its young minds.
Manipur’s qualifiers include Kshetrimayum Deepi Chanu, who secured All India Rank (AIR) 508, leading the state’s contingent. Other successful candidates are Carolyn Chintan (AIR 543), Rahul Hijam (AIR 740), Heikrujam Prasanjeet (AIR 757), Chiinzoukim Tungnung (AIR 768), Syed Sidiqui (AIR 826), M Molightson Kanshouwa (AIR 870), Hatchinghoi Haokip (AIR 898), S Christopher Aimol (AIR 921) and Dominic Sominthang Haokip (AIR 994)
Four candidates from Nagaland, Tolino Chishi (AIR 431), Imsurenla Longkumer (AIR 774), Alemyim Isaac Solo (AIR 749), and Chubalemba B Chang (AIR 915), also brought pride to their state.
Assam’s successful candidates included Abhijnan Hazarika (AIR 172), Ricky Lohkar Pradhan (AIR 230), Rituraj Sharma (AIR 462), Ishwari Deka (AIR 320), Bhaskata Saikia (AIR 552) and Kallul Hazarika (AIR 992).
This impressive performance by the Northeast is a testament to the growing educational aspirations and career ambitions of the youth in the region. It is expected to inspire many more to pursue careers in civil service and contribute to the development of their states and the nation.
