Shergaon is a village situated in the West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh, close to the Bhutan border. It is situated at an altitude of 6,409 ft above the sea level and is located at around 135 kms away from Itanagar, the capital of Arunachal Pradesh.

The village is renowned for its warm and hospitable inhabitants who belong to various indigenous tribes, including the Monpa and Sherdukpen communities. These communities have preserved their traditional way of life, making Shergoan an excellent destination for experiencing the authentic culture of the region. The best time to visit Shergaon is from October to March because the weather is cool and dry during these months. One can see the beautiful Himalayan views during this time.

How to visit

The nearest airport and train station to Shergaon are both located in Tezpur, Assam. Shergoan is approximately 245 kms away from Tezpur. From Tezpur one can hire a taxi or can travel in public transportation to reach shergoan.

Shergaon is also well connected to others major cities by road. One can easily travel from the major cities of Assam or Arunachal to Shergaon.

Explore the Scenic Beauty: Shergaon is surrounded by lush green forests, picturesque landscapes and rolling hills. One can take a walk in the surrounding areas to immerse in the natural beauty.
