The Directorate of Youth Resources and Sports, Government of Nagaland today inaugurated five multidiscipline sports stadiums in five districts of the state – Chümoukedima, Niuland, Tseminyu, Tuensang, and Noklak.

The construction of these five sports stadiums is a major step forward in the development of sports infrastructure in the newly created districts of Nagaland. The stadiums will provide a platform for sports talents in the state and will help in producing world-class athletes.

Announcing the event on X, the Chief Minister’s Office tweeted “witness the grand inauguration of five state-of-the-art Multidiscipline Sports Stadiums across Chümoukedima, Niuland, Tseminyu, Tuensang, and Noklak on 13th November 2023, 4:00 pm, at the Regional Centre for Sporting Excellence. A new era for youth development and athleticism begins!”

Advisor to Chief Minister, Abu Metha taking to X stated “Keenly looking forward to this landmark event. This will be a Game Changer. 5 Multidiscipline Sports Stadiums in 5 Districts !! This will be realisation of a long cherished dream and months of dedicated commitment by multiple teams lead by Hon’ble CM Neiphiu_Rio.

The Nagaland Government is committed to promoting sports in the state and the inauguration of the five sports stadiums is a testament to this commitment. The new stadiums will provide a platform for budding sportspersons in the state to train and showcase their talent. The state government is also planning to set up sports academy in the state that will provide world-class training facilities to budding sportspersons.
