Takam Mising Porin Kébang (TMPK) hosts Mising Olympics to promote games & sports
Takam Mising Porin Kébang (TMPK) has taken an important step in promoting sports and providing a platform for emerging talents with the organization of the Mising Olympics.
The Mising Olympics is being held for three days concluding on the 27th October 2023. The event began on 25th October at Jonai.
Inauguration of the Mising Olympics took place with great fanfare and enthusiasm. The event, which aims to celebrate athleticism and youth potential, has drawn an extraordinary level of participation.

At the district level over 25,000 young athletes competed for a spot in the Mising Olympics and 3,000 have successfully qualified to perform at the Mising Olympics held in Jonai.
Assam’s Education and Tribal Affairs Minister, Ranoj Pegu inaugurated the proceedings alongside Bimal Borah, Minister of Commerce and Public Enterprises, and Pradan Baruah, Member of Parliament from Lakhimpur. Also in attendance were Jonai’s MLA Bhubon Pegu and the renowned athlete, Hima Das, who nicknamed Dhing Express.
Posting on X, Ranoj Pegu expressed his delight at the overwhelming response to the Mising Olympics and highlighted the significance of such initiatives in popularizing sports and nurturing young talent.
He writes, “Mising Olympic is an exemplary event organised by Takam Mising Porin Kébang (TMPK) which will popularise sports and give platform to the budding talents. More than 25K youths participated at district level completions and now 3000 will compete in 12 athletic events at Jonai from today.”

He encouraged young athletes to actively engage in similar constructive endeavors, emphasizing their role in shaping the future of sports in the region.
In a post on X, Assam’s CM Himanta Biswa Sarma commended TMKP for its efforts in reviving and celebrating the rich sporting legacy of the Mising community.
