Tamilnadu Minister, Udhayanidhi Stalin’s remarks on ‘Sanatan Dharma’ sparks controversy
Udhayanidhi Stalin, son of Tamil Nadu CM, MK Stalin and the state’s Minister for Youth welfare and Sports Development sparked a controversy by stating that ‘Sanatan Dharma’ should be eliminated, comparing it to diseases like malaria and dengue.

The minister was speaking at an event organized by the Tamil Nadu Progressive Writers Artists Association on the theme of ‘eradication of Sanatana’ on Saturday in Chennai. As pers reports of ANI, the minister was quoted saying “I thank the organisers of this conference for giving me the opportunity to deliver a special address. You have kept the name of the conference as ‘Sanatana Abolition Conference’ rather than ‘Anti-Sanatana Conference’, I appreciate that. Few things cannot be opposed, that should be abolished only. We can’t oppose Dengue, Mosquitoes, Malaria, or Corona, we have to eradicate this that’s how we have to eradicate Sanatana. Rather opposing Sanatana it should be eradicated. The name Sanatana is from Sanskrit. It is against Social Justice and equality.”
The BJP Party quickly jumped all guns at Udhayanidhi’s remarks saying that the remarks of the minister were a call for ‘genocide’ and calling the DMK an anti-Hindu party.

Congress leader Acharya Pramod says, “There is a competition among leaders to abuse Hindus. For 1000 years there have been efforts to erase ‘Sanatan dharma’.

Meanwhile, a Supreme Court lawyer has filed a complaint with Delhi Police against Udhayanidhi Stalin over his controversial remark. The complainant, Vineet Jindal has claimed that the statement on ‘Sanatana Dharma’ made by Udhayanidhi Stalin is provocative, inflammatory and derogatory.
Udhayanidhi Stalin on the other hand has said that he is ready to face any legal challenge on the matter.
