11th North East Festival to illuminate Delhi with vibrant colors, artistic splendor and gastronomic delights

The 11th edition of the North East Festival is set to kick off in Delhi on December 22nd. This three-day extravaganza, making you immerse in the vibrant colours, rich culture, artistic tunes and delectable cuisine of the Northeast, will be held at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Delhi.

Brace yourself for the festival which promises a captivating experience for all ages. Visitors can expect a diverse array of 150 stalls showcasing exquisite handicrafts, handloom textiles, agricultural products and unique local products from the Northeast. There is also a lively Christmas special bazaar selling Northeastern crafts and eateries from Delhi’s bakeries.

The North East Festival is set to kick off with the inauguration by Amit Shah, the Minister of Home Affairs. Joining the festivities will be union cabinet ministers, G. Kishan Reddy, Anurag Thakur, Sarbananda Sonowal and Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Since its inception in 2013, this annual festival has significantly contributed to the promotion of tourism in the Northeastern states. During the three-day celebration, B2B (business-to-business) meetings will be arranged specifically for the tourism, textile, and food processing sectors.

There will be more than hundred owners of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) who will display their products labeled as “Made in North East” at the exhibition. This will create a marketplace where consumers can purchase authentic goods directly from the producers.

The festival will be a haven for food enthusiasts, offering a tantalising journey through the culinary delights of the eight northeastern states. From the fiery Naga cuisine to the delicate flavours of Manipuri dishes, there’s something to tantalise every taste bud.

Besides this, the artistic prowess of the Northeast will be on full display through captivating performances by around 300 folk artists. There will also be a Meitei martial arts showcase, a doodle art masterclass by the globally known artist Santanu Hazarika and a North East Rock Battle.
