Kohima’s Brillante Piano Festival: A harmonious conclusion to its 4th Edition
The fourth edition of the Brillante Piano Festival in Nagaland concluded with a closing concert on October 1, 2023, after being held for three days at the Capital Cultural Hall in Kohima with chief minister Neiphiu Rio as the chief guest.
The Piano Festival was organized to celebrate the history and impact of piano music, nurture emerging talents, and promote piano learning and performance. It stands as a unique event in India. It brings together local, national, and international pianists for a three-day gathering where they explore various music styles through performances, teaching, competitions, interactions, and practical activities like demos, masterclasses, and workshops—all within a single venue.
In his speech, Rio pledged continuous support from the state government for the youth and urged the music community to help Nagaland become a land of music. He praised the Specially Abled Musician (SAM) program, which showcased the talent and determination of musicians with disabilities.
The State Government recognizes arts, sports and culture as areas through which the youth can optimize their talents and achieve aspirations. I thank all the young competitors from different states for their participation. I wish them the best. pic.twitter.com/0jjz2zkMyZ
