Nagaland to host NEIMUN 10th Edition

The 10th Anniversary Edition of the North East India International Model United Nations (NEIMUN) will be held in Kohima, Nagaland from November 3 to 5, 2023. The NEIMUN Secretariat 2023 will host this three-day conference and has send an open invitation to the northeast youths to attend this 10th anniversary edition.

NEIMUN 2023 is organized by the NEIMUN Foundation and is a youth leadership conference. It is the first Model of UN conference in North East India. It is also one of the few conferences in the world to use UN4MUN (United Nations for Modal United Nations) procedures, designed by the United Nations to accurately recreate UN operations. Aligned with the principles of UN Security Council Resolution 2250 on Youth, Peace, and Security, this conference aims to tackle regional concerns, including topics like drugs, small arms trade, poverty, and conflicts originating from the climate crisis.

The conference aims to gather more than 200 young individuals aged 18-25 from across North East India. These participants will receive education on UNSCR 2250, Youth, Peace, and Security, preparing them for leadership roles and discussions on related topics. It remains dedicated to creating a positive social impact and will feature a ‘Speaker Series’ with prominent figures, panel talks, hands-on workshops, a global village, and social gatherings to foster networking and celebrate the region’s diversity.

NEIMUN has also invited colleges and universities to recommend their students to join their expanding community, a group of emerging young leaders.

The 10th Anniversary Edition of the North East India International Model United Nations (NEIMUN) is set to be a great opportunity for young people in the northeast. By using UN procedures and focusing on important global issues like drugs, poverty, and climate problems, it helps young individuals to become leaders and learn about these issues.
