The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has launched an initiative of transforming retired train coaches into charming and atmospheric restaurants. These ‘Rail Coach Restaurants’ offer more than just delicious food; they provide a captivating ambience and a touch of nostalgia.

The NFR has identified 62 locations across the Northeast to introduce these unique dining spaces. As of now, 13 ‘Rail Coach Restaurants’ are operational under the jurisdiction of the NF Railway. Eight such restaurants are in Katihar, two in Alipurduar and one each at Rangiya, Lumding and Tinsukia.

With work already underway progress at 7 locations in Katihar, 13 in Alipurduar, and 14 each in Rangia, Lumding and Tinsukia divisions, the network is rapidly expanding, offering more people the opportunity to experience this one-of-a-kind dining experience.
