Not many Nepali and Bengali books have been exchanged in the past. Some Nepali writers like K.S. Moktan, Ghanshyam Nepal, Bhaichand Pradhan, Lalijan Rawal, and Usha Rai have translated Rabindranath Tagore‘s writings from Bengali into Nepali.
Suraj Sharma, from Darjeeling, was a journalist. He’s now one of the few Nepali writers translating Bengali literature into Nepali. He went to a Bengali school but comes from a Nepali family. In the past, Suraj Sharma wrote Nepali poems. But now, he is working on projects to translate other Bengali stories into Nepali. Sharma’s translations include stories like Sati, Anuradha, Mandir and many more.
He wants his people to read these stories in Nepali because he grew up loving them. He also plans to translate some Nepali stories into Bengali.
